About This Job

Capital For Business (CFB) is a long-established private equity firm. We are seeking a Principal and/or Vice President to join our successful investment team focused on management-led buyouts of US-based lower middle-market, manufacturing and distribution companies. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing firm focused on niche small company opportunities in a position with significant long-term growth potential.

Who We Are

CFB has a very successful track record of completing acquisitions of numerous lower middle-market companies across various industries and business sectors. The firm’s primary investing activities consist of working in concert with a talented group of committed Partners to identify, evaluate, and acquire attractive companies and then manage those companies post-acquisition.

Essential Functions

Actively contribute to new business development and marketing efforts, including establishing and maintaining industry relationships to generate on-going deal flow

Qualify potential private equity opportunities with the input of the Capital For Business (CFB) team

Perform quantitative analysis of financial statement, financial metrics, & sustainability of cash flows

Develop financial forecasting model for potential investments, develop investment theses and author investment memoranda

Present investment candidates to the  Investment Committee

Serve as a primary negotiator for approved transactions

Lead due diligence, direct transaction execution team and coordinate transaction closing

Work with external banks, co-investors to gain support for investment financing

Perform post-closing responsibilities, including: interact with the management of portfolio companies, evaluate and add value to portfolio company’s operations, monitor performance of portfolio companies, board level oversight of portfolio and report internally on portfolio companies on a regular basis

Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

Strong understanding of middle market private equity market dynamics

Ability to lead transactions and manage portfolio investments

Strong understanding of middle market private equity market dynamics

Motivated and organized self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Inquisitive, agile, and strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to remain adaptable and resilient to all situations with an optimistic outlook and cast a positive shadow that is aligned with our culture and Core Values

Basic level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook  

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred.

8+ years of origination, structuring and closing of private equity transactions experience required

Proven new business origination, negotiation and deal closing experience as a principal and/or in an advisory role required

Relevant capital raising and sponsor relationships experience within middle market space required

Operational business experience preferred
