(Private Industry) Tax Manager - Hybrid Schedule
Real Estate / Construction company looking to hire a Tax Manager. This position will be a hybrid schedule with a couple days in the office a week, and a couple days working remotely from home.

We are a Multifamily New Construction / REIT / Property Management firm with offices and presence across the United States.

If you are a (Private Industry) Tax Manager - Hybrid Schedule with experience, please read on!What You Will Be DoingWill need to ensure the companys federal and state tax compliance, oversee the REIT compliance, and manage the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions. This position will also assist with IRS and state audit defense as well as work on various tax projects.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

- Oversee a small team of Tax Associates and provide training and direction as needed.
- Meet strict deadlines to prevent penalties and late fees.
- Maintain comprehensive tax records for the organization, ensure compliance with relevant tax governance and internal controls.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of diverse U.S. federal, state, and local tax legislation and U.S. GAPP financial statement reporting requirements for taxes. (ASC 740).
- Perform tax research and analysis on special projects as needed, including various compensation programs.
- Assist with IRS and state tax authority audits.
- Work closely with tax advisors to manage the planning, structuring, and compliance of multibillion dollar real estate funds with foreign investors, and the required withholding requirements.
- Manage the quarterly REIT testing process and review REIT tax returns.
- Oversee the preparation of various lower-tier partnership returns.
- Manage the preparation and review of quarterly estimated income tax payments.
- Prepare quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, and/or review tax provision preparation by an outside firm.
- Manage the preparation of the corporate consolidated tax return, multistate income, and franchise tax returns, including combined/unitary as well as separate state income tax returns.What You Need for this Position- 3+ years of experience preparing quarterly and annual tax provision calculations, and/or review tax provision preparations by an outside firm.
- 3-5+ years of federal and state income compliance experience, ideally in a public account or corporate setting.
- Knowledge of account reconciliation and analysis of book-tax difference.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of a variety of tax research and tax compliance software programs.
- Detail oriented, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
