Private Markets Business Management Analyst

Summary:

The private investment group of the firm, NB Private Markets, is a leading and growing investor in private markets, managing over $115 billion of client commitments across Primary, Secondary and Co-investments in Private Equity, Primary and Secondary Private Credit as well as other Private Market specialty strategies.

                          

Our New York office is looking for an Analyst to join the Private Markets Business Management Team, which sits within the broader Private Markets’ Chief Operating Officer team. This team is responsible for understanding the needs of our Private Markets clients and investment teams and helping execute to fulfill those needs in coordination with various internal support functions and third-party vendors. This role will assist with process documentation and new business initiatives, “connecting the dots” across teams and serving as a central point of contact for inquiries relating to business processes and applications, amongst other things.

Responsibilities:

Define and document current business processes across Private Markets, helping to determine areas for improvement and potential efficiencies

Document process changes across Private Markets, helping all parties to understand how and why certain process updates were made and how it impacts each set of stakeholders

Identify and record initial business requirements for strategic projects, developing the supporting materials, such as process workflows to help senior leadership with prioritization of initiatives

Track progress on various business initiatives and strategic projects

Create presentations to facilitate discussions and document business updates

Develop expertise in critical business processes across Private Markets (e.g. deal lifecycle, fund and client onboarding lifecycle, internal application and process “user experience”)

Support growth of the NB Private Markets Generative AI initiatives

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree with excellent academic credentials in economics, business, finance, accounting or similar

1 -3 years of relevant professional experience (i.e., private equity, management or strategy consulting, finance, accounting, operations)

Familiarity with various alternative strategies (e.g. Private Equity, Private Credit, Venture Capital, Distressed Debt)

Superior Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel skills and experience

Experience with business process tools and data visualization tools e.g. Tableau (preferred)

Resourcefulness and proactiveness, ability to multi-task, team-player attitude and a desire to work on a wide range of projects and manage them effectively

Strong project management and organizational skills

Remarkable attention to detail

Strong judgment, maturity and critical thinking skills

Excellent communication; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and written form

Interest in working in an entrepreneurial environment with the ability to take initiative and have creativity in approach to problem solving

Exhibits strong dedication to the job and takes ownership of deliverables

Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn fast

Interested in developing and managing relationships across all levels of the organization

Experience with or strong interest in Generative AI (preferred)

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $90,000-$120,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), life insurance and other benefits to eligible employees.
