Private Wealth Management (PWM) secures, develops, and manages relationships with high-net-worth individuals, their families, family offices and foundations. PWM assists clients with building and preserving their financial wealth by creating and implementing long-term asset allocation within the context of each client’s particular risk tolerance, and by providing access to innovative investment ideas and opportunities. PWM professionals develop customized investment strategies and offer a full array of wealth management products and services.  

 

China Goldman Sachs business is headquartered in Beijing with significant presence in Shanghai and Shenzhen.  PWM Engineering enables the operation of PWM business through our technology platform. Our software helps clients realize their objectives by delivering first-class client service.  We are looking to hire an experienced technical Product Manager, based in China, to cover mainland China business - a fast-paced and growing wealth management business.  Key responsibilities include delivering solutions for regulatory and discretionary initiatives (including a new digital platform), first line application support, and infrastructure management.  As technical analysis is critical it would best suit a current developer or technical architect looking to extend their skill set.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop deep business and technical understanding of private wealth.  This role reports locally to China Engineering and regionally to PWM Engineering.

 

Responsibilities – PWM Engineering Product Manager

Deliver cross-functional regulatory and business solutions – full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), in close partnership with Business, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Engineering.Perform deep analysis (business and technical) to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Manage engagement with software vendors and service providers. Prepare materials for regulatory inspections, internal controls and external audits.Define and track key project delivery metrics (KPIs, measures of success).  Communicate status to a diverse senior leadership audience on a regular basis.Develop product subject matter expertise to ensure solutions are adhering to global and local design principals, while in parallel uplifting user experience. Production support - communicate issues in a timely manner to facilitate appropriate risk management. Identify inefficiencies or breaks in business process / systems and translate to strategic uplift opportunities.Maintain PWM infrastructure, including periodic internal and external industry-wide testing.

 

Basic Qualifications / Requirements

Qualification in an engineering-based discipline, with a strong understanding of and experience in technology concepts and SDLC fundamentals. 3-6 years technical experience - application development, architecture design or technology project delivery, with a focus on cross-asset class products, trade flows, risk management, and regional regulations.Excellent analytical skills to distill complex issues – frequently working with incomplete information.Evidence of experience in risk management in prior roles – a critical component of this role.Experience in vendor engagement, negotiation and management. Detail oriented with ability to communicate technical solutions to a non-technical audience. Track record of engagement with and ability to influence a diverse group of stakeholders.Commitment to excellence, a commercial mindset, and a desire to deliver quantifiable benefits.

Experience in China regulatory requirements and projects.Background or a strong interest in wealth management.Experience in working as part of a global team.
