PRN Medical Assistant (MA)

Premise Health is proud to partner with BASS PRO SHOPS and we are looking for a PRN Medical Assistant to join our team at our employer wellness clinic located in Springfield, MO!

Clinic hours: Mon, Wed, Thu 8am-4:30pm, Tue 9:30am-6pm, Fri 7am-3:30pm - no weekends!
                      PRN as needed during clinic hours based on the needs of the site!

About this Role:  This role will be PRN as needed based on the needs of the site. The MA will perform both administrative and clinical functions.  Willing to train new GRADS!

Essential Functions: 

Interviews patients, measures vital signs, such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' chartsPrepares treatment rooms and patients for examinationCleans and sterilizes instrumentsInventories and orders medical supplies and materialsOperates electrocardiograph (EKG) and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic testsGives injections or treatments and performs routine laboratory testsSchedules appointments and makes follow up phone calls to patientsPerforms administrative tasks, completes appropriate client company and OSHA regulated forms, and provides assistance at front deskKeys data into computer to maintain clinic and patient recordsMay require other duties as assignedAdministers medications and medical treatments competently as directed by a Physician or Licensed Independent Practitioner.Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).Identifies equipment that needs repair and brings it to the attention of the lead clinician.Maintains a clean and safe environment.  Follows infection control procedures.Maintains patient privacy and confidential patient information.Participates in follow up phone calls and follow up patient visits.Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Associate's degree or equivalent from an accredited Medical Assistant training program with externship completed and passed OR National Certification in Medical Assisting from American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, National Center for Competency Testing, American Registry of Medical Assistants or National Health Career AssociationCurrent certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for health care providers is required, Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of servicesPrevious Medical Assistant experience preferred.
