PRN Perioperative Clinical Engineering Technician (Biomed) - Evenings

Position Summary / Career Interest:We are currently recruiting for a PRN Perioperative Clinical Engineering Technician for the evening shift. Flexible start time and minimum of two shifts per week Monday - Friday. Eligible for evening shift differential incentive pay.

The Perioperative Clinical Engineering Tech II (Biomed) position is responsible for the maintenance of life support and non-life support equipment within the Perioperative division. His/her focus will also be on the intra-operative user, equipment problems, completion of scheduled maintenance, and preventative maintenance/repairs of Perioperative equipment. He/she will also be responsible for projects assigned by his Supervisor(s) or Manager. For patient safety, all general repairs and maintenance must be reviewed by his/her supervisor or manager until certification occurs.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions

Test and calibrate medical devices (preventative maintenance)Troubleshoot medical devices in a clinical or operative settingEnsures compliance with regulatory processesManage medical software/hardware systemsEducate the proper use, care, and maintenance of medical devicesReview technical manualsDocument any and all maintenance and repairs and maintain records of maintenance activitiesMust be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities. Required Education and Experience

High School GraduateCompletion of a Certificate Program for a Biomedical Equipment Technician through State Technical College of Missouri, The College of Biomedical Equipment Technology, or similar accredited program with manager approval ORAssociates Degree Associates and/or professional training in Electronics/Biomedical field ORBachelors Degree Bachelors Degree and/or professional training in Electronics/Biomedical field ORCompletion of a U.S. military biomedical equipment technology program OR

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience/training/certification with Anesthesia machines a plus

Required Licensure and Certification

Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) AAMI Credentials Institute (ACI) Certification for Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) Eligible
