PRN Pharmacy Technician II
Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy Services, the Pharmacy Automation Technician is responsible for owning the medication assignment, loading, and unloading process for Omnicell solution implementations. The Pharmacy Automation Technician will use Omnicell’s software and hardware solutions to prepare the customer for go-live. When not engaged on implementations the Tech II will travel to customers sites to run Omnicell automation as part of services technicians. The Pharmacy Automation Technician Tech II is a customer facing role that partners with the Omnicell services teams to provide a stellar customer experience.
Responsibilities
Assign medications remotely using Omnicell’s Medication Assignment Tool (MAT) or assign medications onsite directly at the Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) Receive medication lists from the customer to identify which medications are to be loaded into which location Coordinate with the customer to ensure medications are ordered on schedule in preparation for loading into Omnicell technology solutions Properly assign medications with awareness around high alert, look-a-like, and sound-alike medications Load medications using the customer’s inventory based on assignments made in preparation for go-live Post go-live, unload medications from existing technology. Organize medications in bins or bags for the customer to restock into inventory Utilization of checklists with approval signatures to ensure and confirm all assigned were complete Assist Omnicell’s Professional Services project team as needed with organizing staging area, go-live tasks, pushing hardware into the final location, etc. Operate Omnicell automation at customers sites according to Omnicell SOPs and best practices Maintain a high level of communication to ensure proactive, solution-oriented problem identification and resolution Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by aligning your services to provide customer-focused support emphasizing quality, professionalism, and responsiveness Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a co-operative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building. Comply with reasonable procedures, policies and guidelines established by the Customer Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses associated with timekeeping and per diem employees Maintain state and/or national credentialing to meet established guidelines Must be available to travel to customer sites and/or corporate locationsKnowledge/Skills
Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable, and efficient Demonstrated customer-facing skills Strong interpersonal, communications and problem-solving skills Ability to work with mechanical equipment Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC WindowsBasic Qualifications
High school diploma or GED Active Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT): PTCB or ExCPT tests accepted. State Pharmacy Technician Registration/License in New YorkPreferred Qualifications
Graduating from Accredited Certified Program Two years of experience working in related field Working knowledge of pharmacy automation Knowledge of safe handling of hazardous medications Experience implementing and supporting of clinical solutions within healthcareWork Conditions
Pharmacy environment, working hours may be outside normal business hours Capable of standing for several hours at a time Potential exposure to hazardous drugs Must be able to travel, minimum 75% Able to lift 25 – 30 lbs.
