RN - PRN (5p-5a or 5a-5p)

Registered Nurse - Coronary Intensive Care (CIC) 24 Bed ICU! 

A 24 Bed ICU involving various and extensive coronary and cardiac care, as well as general ICU patients.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the immediate direction of the Nurse Manager/ CNO, this position is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing, coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing practices. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure:

Current Indiana RN license or compact license. 

Experience:

Preferred minimum of one year hospital experience in Cardiac ICU

Education:

Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. 

Registration/Certification:

Must obtain and maintain AED/Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 7 days of hire. ACLS optional. CIC patient population:
Cardiac Arrest/Post Arrest
Respiratory Arrest/FailureAcute MI, NSTEMI, ACS  
Pulmonary Edema/Unstable CHF/Cardiomyopathy  
Pulmonary Hypertension
Acute Renal Failure
Sepsis/Septic Shock
Pulmonary Embolism/DVT
Heart Blocks/Pacemakers

 

RN Assisted Procedures at Bedside: 

Cardioversions, Arterial Line Placement, Central Venous Catheter Placement, Temporary Pacemaker, Swan Ganz, Dialysis Catheter Placement

Post Procedure Care: 

Carotid Stent, TAVR, EVAR, VT Ablations, Coronary Stent, Valvuloplasty, EKOS

Equipment: 

Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, TABLO for CRRT, Impella for LVAD, Ventilator, Continuous Cardiac Output (Swan Ganz Catheter), Zoll Defibrillators, Targeted Temperature Management (Zoll and Arctic Sun), EKOS
