What You Will Do:
As a clean energy finance focused Process and Internal Control Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in helping clients create process documents and implement controls to enable the design, development, and execution of innovative clean energy financing programs. You will collaborate closely with clients to gather input and analyze data from stakeholders to identify important business processes, refine process design, establish stakeholder understanding and alignment, and improve processes. Your expertise will be essential guiding clients through risk identification, mitigation, and the development of risk controls necessary to propel clean energy initiatives forward. Specific responsibilities will include:

Developing and reviewing quality client deliverables

Designing and documenting processes and internal controls

Designing test plans

Leading monitoring and testing of internal controls

Training and coaching clients on new processes and controls

Leading risk assessments

Developing business processes improvements to enhance existing programs

Identifying and proactively addressing client needs by presenting potential solutions to challenges or issues

Facilitating client discussions and meetings

Effectively and concisely communicating and presenting information to clients and leadership

Developing agendas, meeting materials, and talking points in preparation for meetings

Developing high-quality presentations that effectively communicate key objectives and facilitate discussion across multiple stakeholders

Participating in business development activities

General project/task management

What You Will Need:

Bachelor’s Degree

3+ years of experience

Internal control design experience

Internal control testing experience

Process design experience

Policy and/or procedure development experience

Risk assessment experience

Ability to quickly understand ongoing processes to develop and implement process improvements

Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into tangible documents and/or deliverables

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts

Ability to identify and address client needs

Advanced proficiency in the full Microsoft Suite, including MS Teams, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel

Demonstrated critical thinking skills

Experience with facilitation and consensus building

Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with others

Ability to organize, perform, and track multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Familiarity with the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, green banks, or previous work in sustainability, clean energy, and decarbonization strategy development

Strong preference for Financial Services, Financial Management and/or Sustainability experience

Process improvement or project management certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt, CAPM, PMP, CCMP, or Prosci)

Program management and/or Grants Management experience

Program design and implementation experience

Prior experience performing business development actions

Prior experience in areas of risk management, internal controls, financial management, program management in federal government or non-profit organizations

Familiarity with 2 CFR 200
