ADM Operations is seeking an experienced Process Automation Manager supporting process manufacturing assets in out Decatur, IL complex. Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position and may be provided based on eligibility.

The Process Automation Manager will coordinate their team’s efforts with Operations and other Technology Centers to support operations and execute strategic projects. We are seeking a candidate that has a strong understanding of Industrial Automation systems, and interdependencies with other disciplines. You should have strong understanding of project execution methodologies. In this role, you will be accountable for leading large and complex projects in your assigned business technologies within ADM. In this role you will coordinate with other automation teams to share resources and opportunities to allow the Process Automaion and Operational Technology Center to operate on a global level. You will also work with other Technology Centers and Operations Leadership to execute optimization projects and continuous improvement, as well as drive standardization, and help set goals and development plans for your teams that align with the peer Technology Centers and Operations in your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities / Duties:Responsible for safe, reliable, secure process automation systems in plants within area of responsibilityEnsure all process automation deliverables meet the needs of operations and of projects including functioning as expected, on time, and within budget through close partnership with Operations including regular cadence with plant leaders to set priority, and ensure PA representation in planning, communication, and execution.Accountable for process automation installations and tasks in plants and areas under purview. Ensure automation standard work is successfully maintaining safe and reliable plant operations. Actively manage and assign work based on priority.Develop team members by providing guidance, training resources, and individual development plans for a strong cross-functional team. Cultivate leadership and technical skills within the team through mentorship and assignments that empower and enable individual contributors. Accountable for team growth.Proactively mitigate risk and optimize processes through new technology and continuous improvement of automation systems, including leading and fostering future vision for process automation innovation.Drive defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for process automation aligned with Global Operations. Accountable for area KPIs. Support further development of these KPIs in a leadership role in a Global team or Operations Performance Excellence Pillar.Develop written standards and drive successful change management throughout area of responsibility aligned with the overall standards development for the PA and OT Technology Center globally.Ensure sustainment of ADM’s continuous improvement methodology, Performance Excellence, by driving standard work and continuous colleague development.Accountable for understanding and full compliance with safety and other Environment, Health, & Safety (EH&S) requirements.Manage third-party suppliers / contractors (where applicable).Some on call and business travel will be required.Required Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industrial experienceA minimum of 5 years of Process Automation, Engineering, Manufacturing or related experienceExtensive knowledge and experience with one or more process control platforms (Rockwell Plant PAx, Emerson DeltaV, Valmet (Novatech) D/3, PI, Siemens, or Honeywell)Proven experience in intelligent process automation planning and developmentHighly self-motivated and self-directedStrong communication skills, with ability to communicate at a conceptual level as well as at a hands-on, practical level as appropriate for the target stakeholderStrong documentation and organizational skills in order to enhance clarity for your team and peersAbility to skillfully manage multiple projects simultaneously and succeed in an environment of competing prioritiesDemonstrated commitment to environmental, safety, and quality compliance and improvementDemonstrated ability to drive change, resolve conflict in a healthy and effective way, influence multiple plants, and be comfortable working on the factory floorDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment while leading with ADM values of respect and inclusionDemonstrated leadership ability including working with remote team membersFinancial acumen and ability to effectively manage and control costsWillingness to travel as needed (
