Plant Engineering Department Process Coach - Dearborn Tool & Die Plant

Minimum Qualifications

Journeyman Card or eight (8) years of experience in trades. Experience with automotive stamping plant operations or manufactuing plants oprations. Experience with UAW skilled trades. Project management experience. Experience in leading people. Includes filling out timesheets, accounting for hours and following disciplinary procedures based on HR guidelines. 

Preferred Qualifications

Machine tool troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience. Okuma mill experience a plus. Mechanical press troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience.  Hydraulic press troubleshooting, maintenance and repair experience.  Able to read blueprints, electrical schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams.  Experience with proper setup of assemblies using precision bearings  Experience with troubleshooting machines using PLC logic controls including Allen Bradley and Siemens.  Motion control experience and able to troubleshoot motor drive systems using VFDs. Indramat, Siemens and Okuma drives a plus. Experience with common computer interface protocols, including: RS232, RS485, AB DH, Ethernet TCP/IP.  Good communication skills with the ability to comunicate technical details with work teams and management teams. Able to use and maintain work order and PM tracking system. Maximo experience a plus. Able to operate and guide in the proper use of mechanical and electronic test equipment to include: Oscilloscope Multimeter Megger Ethernet cable analyzer CSI vibration analyzer Baker motor winding analyzer Renishaw XL-80 Laser system Renishaw QC20 ball bar system Experience in Tool Room measurement tools, micrometers, indicators ect. Able to use common PC office applications. Microsoft Office  ( Word, Excel, and  Outlook are a minimum requirement).

Jointly lead team of Skilled Tradesmen that includes Electricians, Pipefitters/Hydraulic, Carpenters, Millwrights and Machine Repair. Assign and Monitor work performed by employees. Assign, monitor and mentor all skilled trades apprentices in the deparment. Manage UAW workforce including scheduling vacation time, taking attendance, coaching and dicipline as required. Daily report of time (Hourly Pay System) TWOS. Ensure employees are current in all required safety and corparate mandated training. Monitor and track all plant projects for cost and timing and report out in Plant meetings with Managment Team. Work with outside contractors to manage projects for cost and timing. Request Quotes from ourside suppliers, negotiate, track and invoice POs. Order needed equipment, supplies internally and externally. Assist in trouble shooting for all plant equipment and facility concerns, create action plans to correct emergency and non emergency repairs for equipment and facility
