Process Control Analyst

This position is a full-time, regular, salaried Team Member located at the Cleveland-Cliffs New Carlisle, IN facility. The ideal candidate will possess skills in computer programming and critical troubleshooting for active and operational PA systems including Level II SCADA and Level III MES systems. The position requires in depth knowledge of OpenVMS and will provide technical support to Computer Technicians. Routine job duties include but are not limited to computer upgrades or detailed interface development, messaging software application management, and driver development to Level 1 systems. This role is responsible for the troubleshooting and development of solutions for any of the PA systems across the facility.
Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Work closely with Computer Technicians for system fixes/upgrades, system communication issues, and general PA troubleshooting.
+ Perform root cause analysis of process control system issues and develop corrective action solutions.
+ Oversee installation and modernization projects which include planning, engineering design, hardware configuration, software development and testing, and new system start-up.
+ Assist with corporate PA initiatives as it relates to New Carlisle facility.
+ Prepares periodic status reports and present project updates to peers, other departments, and management.
+ Be available for on call support for 24/7 production environment (computer technicians are first call)
+ Develop/maintain documentation when needed for PA systems.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Associate degree in a technical discipline.
+ 5+ years of experience working with Level 2 SCADA systems
+ 5+ years of OpenVMS System Management experience
+ 5+ years of experience in Microsoft Windows computer programming with C# or Visual Basic
+ 5+ years of computer communication experience between Level 2 systems and Level 1 and 3 systems
+ 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
+ 5+ years of experience in OpenVMS computer programming in FORTRAN or C
+ Experience in working with Relational Databases
