As a Process Control Engineer, you will provide technical expertise for designing, and modifying the process control and safety systems in PPG’s manufacturing facilities to produce PPG coating products.
You will train at the Springdale, PA facility for 2-3 years with the expectation that the position will relocate to the Circleville, OH facility upon completion and career advancement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership to support the sites 24/5 operations with respect to process control systems and instrumentation.Use technical knowledge and data analytics skills to troubleshoot process control systems.Identify and oversee continuous improvement opportunities on electrical and control systems.Support production and maintenance departments in electrical and controls related projects.Manage installation and startup of instrumentation and automation projects, including capital projects. Satisfy projects’ functional, budgetary, and timeline requirements.Work with other engineering disciplines to provide electrical, instrumentation, and automation support.Provide field guidance of employees and contractors, improving labor relations, and leading inter-disciplinary teams.Develop project and special process documentation, including technical writing of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), operations manuals, and training documentation.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience or certifications.Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming process instrumentation in an industrial environment or willing to learn.Experience with GE Proficy iFix SCADA, HMI, and historian software.Experience reading and interpreting P&ID’s and electrical drawings.PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
