About you and this role
We have an exciting opportunity as Process Control Technician within TES Terneuzen, The Netherlands!
As a Process Control Technician, in the Technical Expertise and Support (TES) department, as member of the Support & Sustain (S&S) team, you are responsible for activities relating to the support of ABB and other process control systems within the site.
Within this role you will provide system troubleshooting (support), and preventative maintenance for the site installed base of ABB and other process control systems. Your key objective is to minimize plant downtime caused by process automation system failures, while providing services that are cost effective and sustainable.
You need to have an overall knowledge of current process control hardware (preferably ABB 800xA), Microsoft Windows operating system software, various Dow MET 3rd party hardware, and networking systems and provide knowledgeable advice to others within the site.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the care and troubleshooting of the ABB 800xA process control systems, and their associated networks and interfaces.Support (break-fix) via an On-Call rotation schedule is part of the job.You may also be responsible for the care and troubleshooting of other Digital Control System (DCS) (such as: Mod 5, etc.) systems hardware, software and networks as needed depending on the installed base at the site.You will provide corrective support in response to a control system error condition or failure as the first point of escalation from the plant.You will perform predictive and preventative maintenance (PPM) and health checks on operating control system hardware. You will initiate software upgrades that cannot be done remotely under the direction of a Dow Process Automation subject matter expert.You will follow identified Dow Process Automation work processes, such as Problem Resolution & Request Management, Asset database updates etc.You will provide training and knowledge transfer to plant control system focal points as well as other site support resources.You will do monitoring of DCS system diagnostics aligned with Plant Process Control Coordinator (PPCC).You will participate in risk assessment when activities to the Control System are required.Qualifications
You have a Vocational Degree (MBO-4) in Electronics, Instrumentation, Networking, or equivalent related process control work experience.You have minimum 3 years of relevant working experienceYou ae fluent in Dutch and you have basic knowledge of EnglishYou have an on-going presence, rapid response, and a need to have hands-on interaction with the local environment (touch, view, or hear) in order to provide the needed servicesYou are able to interpret mechanical and electrical diagrams to verify if equipment is installed, racked correctly and powered upPreferred skills
