The Process Development Engineer -Wafer Dicing is responsible for developing state-of -the art processes for CMOS wafer dicing and Pick-and-Place, which are one of the core processes for the consumable diagnostic platform being developed at Cepheid. In this role you will have the opportunity to influence the development of improved processes and to work cross-functionally across different departments and projects This position is part of the Biochip Operations unit and will be located in Newark, CA. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: + Develop and implement Wafer Dicing and Pick-and-Place processes for Manufacturing. + Transfer Operation/maintenance/validation of sophisticated equipment, and train operators for the day-to-day activities. + Collaborate with equipment engineers and suppliers to implement process upgrades. + Implement process controls and monitoring systems to ensure consistent and reproducible manufacturing outcomes. + Collaborate across disciplines to deliver critical consumables to internal customers with an inclusive, approachable and credible communication style. The essential requirements of the job include: + Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or physical science. + Three (3) or more years’ experience in semiconductor wafer dicing and pick and place processes. + Experience in process development or manufacturing environment. It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: + Experience with Failure Analysis of complex processes. + Experience with automation equipment. + Experience with working in regulated environments. The salary range for this role is $126,000-$157,000. This is the range that we, in good faith, believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
