Process Documentation Manager - Seattle
Job Description

Nordstrom has an exciting opportunity available for a highly motivated, customer obsessed, and results driven Process Documentation Manager supporting our Supply Chain Operations Process Training and Documentation team. The Process Training and Documentation team plays a critical role within our Supply Chain by focusing on end-user training and providing step-by-step documentation that clearly explains and teaches processes from the perspective of a first-time user 

 

This individual will be focused on meeting our current business needs and performing to industry standards. The scope of work includes documenting and standardizing all current processes within our current operating systems. This leader will partner closely with various different organizations to support the process documentation and implementation timeline development for current business enhancements within our network. They will also dive deeply into our process flows, working with cross-functional partners to gather various process variants and develop a unified best practice—One Good Way—to be adopted across our network. 

 

The ideal candidate should understand end-to-end capability, use data to validate expected results, and communicate decisions, plans, goals, and strategies clearly. They must make sound, independent decisions during urgent situations and integrate various inputs to deliver long-term value for team members, leaders, and customers. In this role you will perform User Acceptance Testing with engineering, product, IT, and operations partners from the user perspective for updated process flows end-to-end. Once new processes are documented, communication, training, and implementation plans will be developed in conjunction with business partners to support site execution. The role requires comfort in a fast-paced environment, dealing with ambiguity, engaging stakeholders productively, and driving business growth. You must embrace change, have a strong sense of ownership, pride, and accountability, and ensure end-to-end quality of deployments across the network. 

 

A Day in the Life… 

Own process documentation for all current processes and new roll outs and functionality. Maintain document control for all process documents current and future.  

Stand up key initiatives: Support new ways of working and change management within the organization and subject matter experts to understand the opportunities that specific initiatives are addressing. Generate consensus around recommended approach, tools, and resourcing. Build excitement and momentum across stakeholders and leaders. 

Partner across functions: Partner cross functionally across Nordstrom with operations, training, engineering, product, program management and subject owners to build, enhance, and roll out aligned processes. Including support of initiatives through scenario creation, testing, and execution phases.  

Collaborate with senior leaders: Collaborate with senior leadership in buildings and across the network to maintain a focus on top business objectives and initiatives as well as to escalate key status updates and have clear stakeholder communication.   

Training Team Collaboration: Connect with site training team to understand process, collaborate on documents, and provide support in process change execution.  

Document Control: Partner on all process documentation controls to ensure all items reflect processes accurately in comprehendible and organized fashion.  

Analysis & Insights: Analyze performance data to confirm expected results and expand successes where possible. Understands the importance of requirements gathering, prioritization, and objectives.  

Guide progress: Ensure milestones and program methods and practices are being met.  Where there are gaps, effectively highlight concerns, impact, and potential solutions. Advocates for the end user experience and ensure training program needs are met through all phases of the program; supporting training, documentation, requirements, and change management. 

Identify and manage issue escalation and resolution: Identify and maintain visibility to potential issues and risks across the network. Partner with appropriate resources to address swiftly. 

Engage with sites: Engage on site with trainers and operation leaders to gain insight and drive collaboration. Including process concerns, process knowledge gaps, and deep dive all building process for network alignment and identify scalable opportunities.  

 

You own this if you... 

4-year degree in Supply Chain, Technical Writing, or related field 

3+ years of Program Management, training and development, or instructional design experience 

Strong organizational, analytical, problem solving, change and project management skills.  

Experience managing stakeholder relationships  

Ability to track and maintain multiple projects and deliverables  

Strong partnership and relationship development skills  

Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills  

Expert knowledge of program management principles  

Proven ability to excel and lead by example in a fast paced and continuously evolving environment  

Strong and effective written and verbal communication across a range of audiences  

Ability to navigate through ambiguity  

Ability to collect data, analyze, and summarize conclusions  

Travel expectation 25%

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: Total Base Pay Range 92,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
