Process Engineer , RSR DE & AMZL Speed
Description RSR (Rural Super Rural) Network is undergoing growth at an unprecedented level. Our logistics teams are changing the way we interact with customers every single day and solving some of the biggest logistical challenges in the rural and super rural expansion, focusing on process and design improvement to help enable the rural distribution network. Amazon is seeking a Process Engineer to support the Process Engineering team. This individual will be the owner of a process/product roadmap and ensuring delivery to the vision of the next generation of RSR delivery station. This is a unique opportunity at a critical juncture in Amazons growth to drive end to end product delivery from inception to execution. We are looking for a hands-on leaders with experience managing new product and process development for high dollar value programs. To be successful in this role you will need to be able to influence and work with stakeholders across multiple organizations and geographies. You will work with organizations such as Worldwide (WW) Engineering and Design, WW Tech SME, Last Mile Delivery and Tech as well as Operations and Safety to innovate at scale and drive the development roadmap. You will manage network level process improvement initiatives, deal with ambiguity and advocate on behalf of the customer to develop the next generation of RSR delivery station. Key job responsibilities Responsibilities include: - Initiate, define, plan and manage the roll out of the product features and enhancements for the next generation of RSR Delivery Stations. - Drive process improvement and AZML-RSR Parity to enable cost reduction, speed and capacity improvement for the network. - Work closely with a partner teams in Engineering, Tech and Operations to build impactful products - Identify new programs to onboard and integrate. - Lead execution of the product with high-level of discipline and engagement with the product development teams. - Present concepts, designs, program updates and roadmap to senior leadership on a frequent basis. - Hold partner teams accountable for delivery of project roadmap. Own a part of the vision of the next generation DS roadmap, including execution. Meet defined milestones and delivery dates. - Drive a culture of innovation across the RSR DE & AMZL Speed Team. - 50% travel based on business needs A day in the life You will be working with multiple stakeholders to drive key process improvement initiatives. Your daily activities will include participating the calls, creating business reports, focusing on designing and deploying the new process or feature. About the team RSR DE and AMZL Speed team 1) provides design support to RSR network 2) Focus on process and capacity improvement 3) Lead AMZL Speed program with the expansion plan and process improvements. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience - Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions - Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other STEM field - Experience and strong technical background in relevant fields of automated or non-automated material handling equipment - Experience managing the lifecycle of cross-functional projects, implementing automated equipment and/or integrated systems - Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD, REVIT, BIM 360, etc.) Preferred Qualifications - Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related STEM field - Operations Management/Distribution Center experience with direct management or responsibility for material handling, automation, or other technical projects - Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing - Experience with Microsoft Project, Smartsheet programs - Experience with design and/or implementation automation solutions, such as Conveyors, Sorters, high speed manufacturing and packaging lines, Robotic work cells - Proven technical leadership for industrial engineering projects or program Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $68,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $126,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
