MAU is hiring a Process Engineer for Magnera in Washington, GA. As a Process Engineer, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, enhance product quality, and optimize production processes. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
Benefits Package 401(k) plan Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Paid time off Shift Information Monday – Friday (40 hours per week) Required Education and Experience Degree and/or combination of education AND 5+ years of experience in plastics extrusion operations General Requirements Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects Strong written and verbal communication skills Proven organizational and team-building capabilities Strong analytical, statistical, and computer skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong presentation skills Essential Functions Lead process improvement efforts to reduce gross and net scrap Provide hands-on support for processes and equipment Develop and implement process improvement programs to enhance consistency and control (e.g., SOPs, Kaizen) Foster operational discipline within manufacturing processes Conduct technical training for operating personnel, including training on resins, extrusion, and winding Investigate new methods and tools to enhance plant performance, including equipment and statistical tools Determine priorities in coordination with the Site Director and implement assigned projects Stay updated on new manufacturing technologies and evaluate their applicability Develop control procedures and train personnel on their use Integrate product quality considerations into process planning Promote daily safety awareness and prioritize workplace safety Track and communicate plant performance data to operators Perform additional duties as assigned by management Working Conditions On-site position in a manufacturing environment Exposure to weather conditions, dust, heat, humidity, and odors Varying noise levels; hearing protection required in designated areas Frequent exposure to high-speed machinery, hot surfaces, and forklift traffic Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands Regular stair climbing (up to three levels) Periodic lifting/moving of up to 10 lbs Requires close, distance, peripheral, and color vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus
