Job Description
The Process Engineer’s prime objectives are to initiate and lead the process optimization efforts to ensure effective & efficient utilization while producing a consistent quality product. The essential function and key responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:
Monitor the daily performance of production and communicate the evaluation to the process/production groupsContribute to Teledyne Micropac’s variable costs by making process and equipment operation more efficient & effectiveInitiates continuous improvement and process optimization projectsConducts process audits, SPC, PFMEA as set by the process managerAssist Process Manager in the preparation of the company performance planProvide technical support and assist in the resolution of manufacturing problems as requiredConfers with vendors to resolve equipment, materials, and/or quality issues that are impacting the quality of the end product being producedApplies statistical methods to the analysis of key manufacturing processes and controlsComprehensive knowledge of BOM structure and change control processTeam player in pursuit and support of cost reduction activities to achieve company goalsAbility to work independently, resolve technical and manufacturing issues without detailed direction, and work as part of a teamCapability to accurately and efficiently work on multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to travel “as required” to provide technical support and trainingIdentify process bottlenecks and devise solutions to resolve themResearch new manufacturing technology and equipment and prepare proposals to justify the management expenditureMonitor and track manufacturing systems’ functionality and production records, maintain production documentationEnsure all processes and equipment comply with all state and federal regulations/guidelines through proactive solutions and technologiesImplement and advance LEAN manufacturing principles, equipment reliability, and automation into productionConfer with production management, and maintenance personnel regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production process improvementsCommunicate effectively with operators, maintenance, and operational management ensuring alignment when introducing and implementing new processes, work instructions, and equipmentPosition Requirements
BS degree in engineering or related discipline1 year working experience as a Process Engineer or related engineering positionMinimum of 15 years working experience in a directly related position of responsibility with demonstrated engineering competency may be considered in place of a formal college degree with associated experienceLean Six Sigma CertifiedSolid works experience a plusDemonstrates accuracy and proficiency in the execution of job responsibilities
