Job Title: Process Engineer                     

Division : Minerals

Location: Onsite, Hybrid, Madrid Spain

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

As a key member of the Capital Projects Department, the Senior Process Engineer is responsible for providing expertise and technical leadership in the disciplines of Process design at various phases of design of Mineral Processing Plants, within the context of tendering and executing Capital Projects, ranging from Conceptual Design to the Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Project Closure stages, being responsible for supervising internal and external resources, and accountable for ensuring that Process design and equipment selection are in line with contract requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position reports to the Capital Project Process Manager and is located in Spain (other European locations considered).Proven experience in mineral process plant design and building flowsheets with mass/water balances.Equipment selection including screens, washers, classifiers, cyclones, pumps, thickeners, and decanters.Circuit simulation and equipment selection using software like Agg-flow, JKSimmet, Usimpac, Metsim, or similar.Strong understanding of layout, GA, and P&ID’s, and leading preliminary layout engineering.Involvement in site surveys to ensure compatibility with existing customer plant and equipment.Work closely with regional sales teams to identify opportunities and deliver solutions, ensuring safety, ethics, and adherence to IP policies.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Mineral Processing, or Metallurgy required; Master’s degree is a plus.Proven track record in plant optimization and debottlenecking of mineral processing/metallurgical circuits.Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, installation requirements, and simulation programs (Agg-flow, JKSimmet, Usimpac, Metsim).Strong commercial acumen and ability to design process improvements for mining equipment and washing plants.English fluency required; willingness to travel up to 20%; awareness of cultural differences in business.

Methodical approach with high attention to detail for accuracy.Proficient in diverse design and processing software for visualizing 3D layouts or flowsheets.Strong teamwork and communication skills across all business levels, with high personal integrity to protect company IP.Excellent English language skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and willingness to travel.
