Responsibilities

This position sits in North Central Florida 

The Process Engineer will be the main technical support for our Florida manufacturing site and will work safely with the plant to help improve their productivity through extrusion processing, equipment reliability, equipment upgrades (including replacements), standard work, and standardized processes. The Process Engineer reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Managing key equipment installations and working closely with the manufacturing teams to developing standard operating procedures for key manufacturing processes.Support new production tooling runsIdentify productivity improvement opportunities and work with the manufacturing site to develop and implement these opportunitiesSupport production associate training as neededReviews the condition of existing manufacturing lines and work with the manufacturing teams to develop and execute equipment/line improvement plansAssist the plant teams in reviewing their equipment needs and helping to prioritize these needs for capital planning purposesLead systematic problem-solving teams to help identify root causes and permanent corrective actions for key manufacturing issuesProvide formal updates and reviews to Leadership on key projects, tooling runs, and improvement activities that are being implementedShare lessons learned and best practices amongst the plantsDrive best practices and continuous improvement through standardized processesCollaborate with various Operation teams to resolve project obstacles or roadblocks Work with the various teams to develop and deploy processes that help standardize manufacturing practicesLead lean Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts (A3, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, etc.) to improve process and equipment reliabilityLead lean Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts (A3, 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, etc.) to improve process and equipment reliabilityDevelop, manage and implement capital equipment projects that support production.

Job Skills:

Excellent interpersonal and analytical & systematic problem-solving skillsUnderstanding of Six Sigma or lean manufacturing practices and ability to drive continuous improvement methodologyAbility to communicate at all levels of the organizationDevelopment and roll out of SOPs Resilience and resourcefulnessStrong organizational and analytical skillsStrong extrusion processing skillsEquipment reliability and maintainability

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Plastics, Industrial, Mechanical, or another Engineering discipline

Preferred Experience:

Five or more years of manufacturing experience at various levelsExperience working in a manufacturing environment, plastic extrusion, and molding a plusProven track record of driving continuous improvement with manufacturing teamsPolymer processing equipment and tooling (extrusion, injection molding, and blow molding)Experience with capital planning, project development, and project executionProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software 

Physical Demands of the Job:

The employee will lift and move heavy items, which will require the ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds to a height of 6 feetThe employees will be working specified shifts, and moving around at all times which will require the ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hoursFacilities can be extremely hot at times, so the employee must have the ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremesThe employee will be handling materials daily, which requires the ability to use hands, arms and legs to physically handle and transport finished goodsThe Position requires full range of body motion, on a daily basis, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
