Process Engineer

Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Process Engineer to join our team in our EPS plant in Calvary, Canada. This role will start in early 2025.

 

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our EPS plant in Calvary, Canada with the expectancy to start early 2025. This individual will conduct process engineering and manufacturing support for chemical manufacturing processes. Technical ownership of the process and related responsibilities including process safety, day-to-day technical support for the operating units, provide support to capital projects and new equipment, and lead and support process improvement initiatives.  The position requires the identification of root cause for internal or external non-conformances and to identify continuous improvement projects and methods to reduce process variation, reduce waste, improve quality, improve productivity and reduce cost. The position requires maintaining the associated documentation for the processes.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Own and update standard operating procedures, P&IDs, process hazard analysis, and other operations documentation. Lead the development and execution of quality and process improvement projects and activities using process improvement tools (six sigma, lean, etc.) Assist with planning and executing capital improvements Lead or support process or product design reviews, management of change, raw material qualifications, pre-startup safety reviews, and product and process capability studies. Organize, implement and maintain production process flow Improve continually existing operation, for increased quality, productivity, efficiency and cost savings Manage other manufacturing documentation including bills of materials, cost standards, process control descriptions, etc. Monitor chemical processes to ensure process is operating within expected parameters from a safety, quality, productivity, and cost perspective. Train staff on new processes, equipment, and technology Perform root cause investigation and implement defined corrective actions Maintain the documentation and quality system that meets the requirements for external certification for products (UL, FM, ICC, etc.) Complete programming updates to the process control system.

Working Conditions:

Occasional work in manufacturing plants where there could be exposure to dirt, dust, and hotter/colder temperatures than office settings. Individual will operate primarily in an office setting, with a hybrid flexibility to work from a home part of the week. Noise levels may be high at times PPE will be required and provided (must obtain own safety shoes)

Requirements:.

Bachelor of Science Chemical Engineering or equivalent degree required 3-5 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing operations Experience with process safety requirements preferred (Management of Change, Standard Operating Procedures, Incident Investigation, P&ID updates, PHA validation, Training, and Mechanical Integrity requirements). PLC programming preferred Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 preferred
