Responsibilities:
Monitor manufacturing processes on a daily and weekly basis to identify trends and out-of-control situations and provide solutions according to urgency and priority.Make applicable recipe changes to equipment and understand implications on the process.Develop or maintain performance indicators on a weekly or monthly basis to ensure the process is meeting quality and productivity targets.Industrialize two new process areas (incorporating them into the plant from operating procedures, ancillary equipment, maintenance tasks, and ware flow)Perform root cause analysis on reasons for trends and gaps to yieldsProvide data and explanations to other process engineers, lead operators, process technicians, and other departments in order to maintain process stabilityWork with operators to identify process problems and also provide occasional process training.Write process documentation and update procedures.Provide guidance or suggestions to other departments (operations, maintenance) as it relates to the process area.Provide on call support as neededIdentify cost reduction projects and work with the team to implement them.Implement process changes or new products as directed by R&D.Report on a weekly basis a summary of process changes, developments, improvements, project progress to the engineering manager.Collaborate with engineers at other international Prysmian plants to resolve process problems or make process improvements.Become a contributing member of the global process control team with a desire to generate change.Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelinesRequirements:
Minimum 3 years experience as a process engineer in a manufacturing environmentB.S. in Engineering (Industrial, Chemical, Materials, Mechanical, Glass Science, Ceramic, or Metallurgical Engineering) from an ABET accredited institutionDemonstrated ability to identify and start investigation on a process drift without being prompted and generate Key Process Indicators or Metrics to identify process drifts and maintain control of their processAbility to prioritize tasks to make progress on short term and long-term initiativesCharacteristics for success:
