Process Engineer

Airswift is seeking the right talent to join our team as a Process Engineer to support our client's site in the Beaumont, TX. 

This role will be providing technical support, problem solving consultation, and develop engineering procedures in order to ensure optimum Engineering support for plant operations.  You will be participating in the application of new technology and materials to existing processes to increase overall production and/or maintenance efficiency.  In addition, you will have the opportunity to provide process engineering support for the plant on capital projects, from conception to start up.

Duties & responsibilities

Analyze and troubleshoot plant operating problems

Optimize unit operations and support plant shutdowns, plant upsets or turnaround events with technical input

Support various plant capital projects including preparing scope of work for new capital projects and performing economic calculations for project screening

Prepare, lead and follow up Process Hazard Analysis (PHA)/Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) and share in the PHA recommendation assignments

Initiate and manage Management of Change (MOC) for assigned projects

Lead cost reduction initiatives and provide information/calculations to support budgeting and cost control efforts

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a refinery, chemical, or petrochemical plant

Good communication skills (oral/written)

Able to work independently and as a team player and make sound decisions based upon technical information

Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office. Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
