OPPORTUNITY
A Current Manufacturing Engineering Process Engineer, will be responsible for end to end ownership of all inputs and outputs into a line of the T&F production facility, including launch activities, current car activities (SQCDM&E) and process creation during new model timing. Reporting to the lead engineer, the process engineer will support a team of hourly associates within their relative area of responsibility to plan and deliver flawless launches through each build phase, into job1 and continue to ensure standards are met and continuous improvement activities are driven into mass production.
WHAT TO EXPECT
• Use of engineering & program tools to ensure smooth introduction of new models and updates within current production, ENOVIA, WERS Concerns & Alerts, Proficy, FMEA, IPLM, Team Centre, CATIA, GSPAS, E-Tracker, PACN/MACN’s/FCIM’s, etc.
• Lead & support multi-disciplinary teams in pursuit of complex technical solutions.
• Liaison with suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Application of lean manufacturing and design for manufacturing principles.
• Process development from concept planning through introduction into production.
• Planning, development and implementation and updating of all written processes for manufacturing.
• Design reviews and interface with Product Engineering/PVT to ensure optimized design for manufacturing
• Analysis for manpower & capacity planning. Line balancing, efficiency and utilisation improvement.
• Planning, development and implementation of all tooling, jigs and fixtures for manufacturing.
• Develop and implement quality maturation plans for new model introduction, continuing through mass production.
• Ensure all engineering changes are compliant with corporate and regulatory requirements for the assigned commodity. Conducting line trials and process audits, communication to production teams.
• Lead continuous improvement activities across SQCDM&E, using lean manufacturing principles
• Create & maintain manufacturing documentation PFMEA, Control Plan, GSPAS, Visual Management.
• Define, coordinate and deliver robust training plans.
• Detailed and robust problem solving using problem solving tools and reporting out status at events such as DFV/5F, DQR & PQR.
• Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.
WHAT YOU´LL NEED
• Relevant previous experience of T&F Manufacturing / Process Engineering , tools and techniques including consistent delivery of productivity targets in Manufacturing.
• Previous experience of supervising teams in Manufacturing.
• Good level of English language to have the ability to present in senior forums and to engineering teams in the UK.
• Experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving and problem solving tools such as 8D, Fishbone, 5 Why, DMAIC, PDCA
• Experience and working knowledge of Health and Safety Audits and ergonomics including risk assessments
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision to deliver key objectives, with a “my business” approach
• Computer literacy – Microsoft office
• Knowledge of PFMEA/Design for assembly principles/Control plan/ SPC
• Demonstable ability to create detailed and effective action plans.
• Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering discipline.
• Experience of a Launch environment.
• Computer literacy – CAD
• Proven project management experience.
• Six sigma, lean manufacturing
