Purpose of Role: As a key member of the Technical Project Management Department, the Process Engineer will support the Head of Technical Project Management in providing expertise and technical leadership in the disciplines of Process design & execution of Mineral Processing Plants, ranging from Conceptual Design to the Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Project Closure stages, being responsible for supervising internal and external resources, and accountable for ensuring that Process design and equipment selection are in line with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Engineering: The role involves building flowsheets with mass/water balances and requires proven experience in mineral process plant design. It includes equipment selection, such as screens, washers, classifiers, cyclones, pumps, thickeners, and decanters. Circuit simulation and equipment selection using software like Agg-flow or similar are essential. A strong understanding of layout, GA, and P&ID’s is necessary, along with leading preliminary layout engineering.

Site and Customer Interaction: The position requires conducting site surveys to ensure compatibility with existing customer plants and equipment. It involves working closely with regional sales teams to identify opportunities and deliver solutions, ensuring customer expectations and deadlines are met.

Reporting and Compliance: The role includes providing regular reports and adhering to the company’s strict IP policies.

Business Development and Ethics: The role focuses on maximizing business opportunities while ensuring safety and ethical practices are upheld.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Ideal candidate will have a degree in Engineering with preference to Mining, Minerals Processing or Metallurgical studies.  Master degree will be a plus.

Ideal candidate will have substantial Mining and/or Sand/Aggregate plant or operational experience

Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

Proven experience in plant optimization and debottlenecking of mineral processing / metallurgical circuits

Able to recognize the opportunity and to design process improvement on mining equipment and washing plants

Knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering and installation requirements

Strong commercial acumen that supports being able to commercialize engineered solutions

Willing and able to undertake a high degree of travel (up to 40% mainly within the country)

Experience on Agg-flow or similar simulation programs experience will be a must

Fluency in Arabic, English & French is a must. Other languages will be considered as a plus.
