Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer - Filtration Product Development is responsible for designing, building, and testing complex or large-scale filtration systems. This role ensures seamless integration of system components and their collective functionality. The Process Engineer determines the system’s overall structure, coordinates the interaction between components, and assesses environmental impacts. 

This position is part of the Innovation & Technology team, located in London, Ontario, and will be on-site.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

Preparation of process engineering designs ensuring that designs are optimized and able to meet the performance and treatment requirements for specific water and site conditions whilst ensuring compliance with client deliverables.

Act as process lead on early technology and pilot demonstrations, to support technology evaluations working with engineering and service teams to provide support for required information including test protocols, data analysis and reports

Creatively solve problems related to system operation to ensure system performance

Demonstrated ability to analyze system hydraulics and identify design constraints that may limit or reduce system effectiveness

Demonstrated ability to create, analyze, interpret and comment on PFDs, P&IDs in support of product development

Consult with Research and Development teams during the creation and optimization of new and existing products and offerings

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience with water or wastewater treatment equipment systems.

Strong understanding of water treatment technologies and processes used in advanced water treatment processes, as well as an understanding of industry standards and regulations. First hand troubleshooting or field experience with the following technologies is preferred: UV Advanced oxidation, Ozone, BAF, Microfiltration, Ultrafiltration, Reverse Osmosis, GAC.

Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal. Ability to articulate and defend an idea or problem within the water community including clients, consulting engineers, regulators, and government representatives.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Up to 10% Travel in North America may be required
 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

Analyze and synthesize learnings to develop tools and best practices guidance to train others

Deliver productivity in a self-directed work environment. Be self-directed, results oriented, accountable, flexible, independent and proactive in achieving results

Demonstrate ability to interpret and work effectively to execute all aspects of the remote or on-site service event, while maintaining/developing good customer satisfaction

Experience analyzing potential foulants and cleaning solutions

Proficient using AutoCAD 2D
