The Process Engineer, under the direction of the Process Engineer Manager, using established procedures, will provide engineering support in the areas of product and process development, troubleshooting, cost (yield and labor efficiency) improvement, product quality improvement, and cycle time reduction.  Investigation and proposal of new production equipment, procedures, and methods to automate, improve, and/or scale-up existing processes.

Working with Product Development (R&D) follows the New Product Development process completing the manufacturing-related sections such as BOM, Travelers, Work Instructions, SPC, training, etc.Working with other engineers, develops SOPs and Process Flow Diagrams for new products or modified equipment and procedures.Complete General Process Change control documents when implementing process changes on assigned production processes.Develops standard work and is involved in training operatorsAssists in New Process Development Stage Gate reviewsCompletes Process Audits and resolves audit findingsWorking with other engineers, determines critical process metrics that can be monitored on a regular basis.  Work with Quality Engineering to develop and implement Statistical Process Controls for assigned production processes.  Provide support in the collection and interpretation of metric data (e.g. SPC charting)Ensures that safety and process hazard reviews are conducted for new or modified equipment and proceduresWorking with other engineers, develops and maintains FMEA’s and Control Plans for assigned processesAssists in all Change Control processes.Working with other engineers, investigating and proposing new production procedures and methods to automate, improve, and/or scale up existing processes.  Utilizing the General Process Change control system implements changes, providing progress reports and financial evaluations.Working with other engineers, runs test programs to identify key variables for process optimization using sound Continuous Improvement techniques (such as ANOVA, DOE).  Collects and analyzes data from tests.  Develops conclusions and recommendations for process improvement(s).Working with other engineers, troubleshoots problems with existing equipment and processes.  Recommends solutions to such problems and implement solutions after review.Working with other engineers, acts as the 8D champion for complaint resolution including root cause analysis, corrective action, and preventative actions for any complaints for the assigned area.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Material Science backgroundExperience in Metallurgy, Casting or Vacuum Induction MeltingExperience with forming alloy processes, Annealing, rollingExperience with material characterizationExperience conducting FA (Failure Analysis)

ADDITIONAL SKILLS PREFERRED:

Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.Effective facilitation skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.Solid mechanical and controls aptitude.Ability to work well on teams with employees at all levels within the organization.Willingness to learn new skills, work habits, and procedures.Computer proficiency in spreadsheets and data analysis.Ability to initiate creative processing methods.SAP knowledge a plus, experience in a manufacturing environment.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S.-controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from approval for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction


 

Pay Range:

$68,600.00 - $102,800.00

Actual base salary offered varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
