Compensation

The compensation target range for this role is:

$80,800 - $95,000

Job Summary

At Purple, a successful Process Engineer will be a systems thinker, able to marry detailed local machine and operator efficiency with overall plant performance to direct continuous improvement efforts. The position will be the primary lead responsible for analyzing performance, developing, organizing, and implementing methods and equipment improvements. He/She will become intimately familiar with Purple manufacturing processes, using analytics and systems thinking techniques to improve processes for the benefit of the company.

The Process Engineer will team with other departments and disciplines to get buy-in on all improvement efforts. Directs projects and teams to achieve company goals. Develops projects and strategies independently. Acts as knowledge resource and guide within the organization. May have direct reporting staff.

Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Build and maintain a system performance map that communicates efficiencies, capacity, and system bottlenecksLead capital improvement projects, implementing on-time and within budgetLearn and apply appropriate Lean, Theory of Constraints, and Six Sigma principlesPromote an environment of engineering rigor, discipline, informed decision making, and enthusiastic problem solving with his/her peer group in ProductionCoordinate with the Quality and Maintenance teams to investigate product or equipment failures and determine a plan to prevent or mitigate future occurrences

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities;

Ability to work in a matrixed environmentFamiliarity with injection molding processes preferredStrong understanding of data analyticsAbility to read mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics, and material specificationsFamiliarity with ERP systems, BI software, and other enterprise packagesAbility to work in a dynamic environment, requiring the development and maintenance of controlled, scalable processes

Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, etc..) with 4-7 years’ experience as an Engineer in a production environmentUnderstanding of Lean and Six Sigma principles
