About the role

The process engineer  is part of the Process Technology team of the site. He/She reports into the Process Technology Manager who is part of the local management team.

The Process Engineer is responsible for studying, analyzing, and optimizing production processes. By doing so, he/she has an important impact on the different KPI’s of the operational departments related with efficiency, safety, quality, losses and environmental impact.

He/she develops and implements work instructions for new product processes, equipment or new ways of working.

 Additionally, he/she provides support to the operations managers and acts as an intermediary for engineering projects related to new installations or upgrades.

 

Key responsibilities include

Studies and analyzes, in collaboration with other members of the process technology team, production losses and defines and implements optimizations. Ensures the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data within the production systems. Leads the analysis and improvement of the OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) of the production processes on-site. Provides support to operational teams (operations managers, team leaders, operators) in case of issues and assists them in achieving the desired results. Acts as the link between operational teams and engineering for projects related to new installations or upgrades during the full project cycle. Including FAT/SAT, start up, ramp up, training… Is with the project team responsible for the efficiency, safety, quality, losses and environmental impact of the project. Safeguards process knowledge: Monitors developments within the production department; Stays informed about new process technologies; Shares knowledge and experience; Provides information or training regarding the production process to employees; Ensures knowledge retention through POKA

About you

 

Degree in Industrial or Bio-Engineering or equivalent through experience Exvellent knowledge of Dutch and advanced proficiency in English (understanding, speaking, writing) 2 years of relevant experience experience with common office software and SAP. Having experience with operational digital support tools (MES, Siemens S7, Poka…) is a plus You act as a true coach and trainer towards the line management (team leaders, supervisors and department managers). You identify improvement opportunities and implement shopfloor standards resulting in a safer environment, less defects and less delays, while raising the shopfloor team’s engagement. You support by on-the-floor coaching and training and by using your deep influencing skills to get everyone involved on board. You have the potential to grow into a broader CI Manager or Department Manager role. You have an analytical mindset and are able to standardize and improve or optimize an existing or new process.  You have the ability to easily switch between a department level ‘business’ view and the smallest shopfloor detail. This is necessary to support in the NPI process and engineering projects. You are a creative, solution-oriented and flexible person. You truly infect people through your drive and enthusiasm. You need to be able to communicate your thoughts and instructions in a crisp, structured way, and feel confident in front of an audience
