Introduction to the job

ASML is the world's leading provider of lithography systems for the semiconductor industry, manufacturing complex machines critical to the production of integrated circuits or chips. ASML's corporate headquarters is in Veldhoven, the Netherlands.

You will be working in the sector Manufacturing Services - Logistics Operations (5L), within the Control Tower - Process Engineering department, located in Veldhoven, The Netherlands. Your specific focus area will be MICC, Material Intake & Cleaning Consolidation, where the team is responsible for receiving, unpacking, (pre)cleaning & consolidating all materials & tools which are required in one of the factories in Veldhoven for the production of ASML's lithography systems. The MICC teams work in a dynamic (cleanroom) & high performing environment, with a lot of different tools, MHE & Airlocks.

As a Competence Engineer with focus area MICC (Material Intake & Cleaning Consolidation), you are the linking pin from Control Tower - Process Engineering side for all process improvements for the 4 separate MICC operational teams in different aspects. You come up with improvements yourself by doing Gemba's & performing data analysis. You are the go-to person for operations regarding Continuous Improvement (LEAN), you support in improving our 5S+1 standards and you support in creating a more safe working environment by coming up with new ideas (together with our EHS colleagues).

Role and responsibilities

For your role as Competence Engineer, your main responsibilities will be:

Work closely with various departments such as MICC, Control Tower, other LO teams, factories, (internal) customers, suppliers and colleague engineers to ensure that all processes associated with MICC run efficiently and smoothly

Leading or contributing to projects of the MICC or LO Roadmap

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for different aspects, such as: Safety, Quality, Performance & Costs

Concrete areas: cycle time reduction, On Time In Full Performance, MICC Completeness, cost reductions, disturbance reduction, Safety/ergonomics improvement

Education and experience

To help us tackle the logistical challenges we face, you bring in the following educational background and experience:

A Bachelor's degree and/or business degree Logistics Management / Operational Management / Engineering.

At least 2 years’ experience in operational logistics & engineering, preferably in a high-tech, low-volume assembly environment

Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Excel & SharePoint is an strong advantage.

Work will partially be done in cleanroom (wearing cleanroom suit)

Day shift function

This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the United States Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
