Job Description SummaryProcess engineering ownership role focused on special joining process including, but not limited to, vacuum brazing, vacuum heat treating and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW). This role is focused upon the execution of manufacturing activities within an operation discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Strong communication and teamwork skills are required to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Engineering, Manufacturing Operations, and Lean Engineering. Daily tasks are primarily self-guided and discussed with personnel within the Special Joining Process Engineering group. This role will report directly to the Technical Resource Director.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:Define and control production procedures including tooling, equipment, and trainingInterpret drawing specifications and applications for tooling, equipment, and affected personnel Develop in-depth knowledge at a process expert level of special joining processes Participate and communicate as a member of a cross-functionalServe as a liaison between manufacturing operations and engineeringImplement procedural standards per AMS 2750, AWS D17.1, and other GE applicable specifications.Serve as the site focal for related Nadcap auditsDevelop and standardize processes and parametersImplement new ideas to improve safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity
Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of Materials Science with a focus in Metallurgy experience)Minimum of 3 years of Manufacturing experience
