Parker Hannifin Canada has an exciting opportunity at our Milton, Ontario head office for a Process Engineering Intern. This role will focus on projects within our lean, quality, and manufacturing support areas of Parker Canada operations. As a Process Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with Parker’s Manufacturing Engineers, Lean, and Quality Specialists. You will support the development, design, and implementation of continuous improvement projects that enhance our manufacturing processes. Our interns gain practical experience and are exposed to cutting-edge technologies, working with all levels of the organization on projects designed to challenge and develop their skills. The start date for this role will be May 2025, for a duration of 12-16 months. + Assist in the implementation of Parker Canada’s Automation, Lean, and Quality Strategic Initiatives, including: + Creating and maintaining Digital Work Instructions for existing and new processes. + Supporting Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives. + Contributing to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and Zero Defect programs. + Develop innovative solutions to complex manufacturing problems by identifying and implementing advanced manufacturing processes. + Analyze production, labor standards, and material costs to recommend and implement changes to current manufacturing processes. + Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout, while establishing "design for manufacture and assembly" plans. + Apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to enhance products and processes, potentially leading special projects for various products and processes. + Ensure safety and ergonomic considerations are integrated into all automation changes. + Evaluate capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. + Design and prepare concept drawings, implement new equipment, prototypes, or modifications to existing equipment, and manage capital equipment project implementations. + Conduct workflow analysis and make recommendations for improvements in material handling, shop layout, quality, and lean processes. + Perform other duties as assigned. + Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering. + Strong technical aptitude and proficiency with computer applications. + Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adapt to new situations. + Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. + Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with minimal supervision.
