Description and Qualifications
The Process Improvement Analyst II (PIA II) coordinates the identification and delivery of Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives throughout LifeCenter Northwest (LCNW). The PIA II will facilitate targeted process improvement activities through the use of improvement tools and methodologies including Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Lean, Six Sigma and Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) to deliver measurable impact on organizational goals. This position supports the LCNW Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Plan by analyzing and utilizing operational and other data to guide process improvement activities within LCNW. This position also works to ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations (CMS, OPTN, AATB and FDA).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
General Responsibilities
+ Facilitates the identification, design, and implementation of process improvement initiatives that lead to a positive and measurable impact on organizational goals.
+ Diagrams and evaluates existing processes. Provides consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and quality. Aligns improvement to performance shortfalls.
+ Organizes, leads and facilitates cross-functional project teams on process improvement initiatives to improve outcomes, optimize use of organizational resources and maintain organizational alignment. Communicates team progress.
+ Champions the culture of Organizational Excellence and Continuous Quality Improvement by acting as a resource and engaging LCNW staff in developing and implementing improvement projects.
+ Utilizes data to identify and evaluate opportunities for improvement and measure progress in improvement initiatives
+ Leads improvement initiatives, facilitates the development of problem-solving initiatives and process changes. Provides project management support as appropriate. Regularly reports the status of process and quality improvement efforts and related impact.
+ Prepares communications on topics such as process changes, progress measurements, and quality standards.
+ Researches, designs, and delivers appropriate process improvement training to staff and management. May deliver presentations and training on improvement related topics.
+ Researches best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data. Encourages a data driven culture.
+ Works with leadership and process owners to develop the organizational Strategic Plan.
+ Performs cost and benefit analyses. Analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements.
+ Collects data to identify root cause of problems. Measures performance against process requirements.
+ Establishes quantitative measurements and techniques for measuring improvements.
+ Works collaboratively with Business Intelligence function on data collection, analysis and reporting to ensure project selection and goals are data driven.
+ Serves as a member of the Organizational Performance Excellence Meeting and assists with facilitating regular meetings, collecting, analyzing, and presenting relevant data.
+ Maintains a strong working knowledge of regulations and standards, identifies necessary changes, and incorporates them into SOPs, processes, and training. Works with process owners to ensure processes are in compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
+ Participates in national and industry specific meetings/conferences, networks with process improvement professionals, shares best practices, tools, and materials.
+ Collects and analyzes process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost.
+ Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.
+ Prepares for and participates in accreditation surveys, regulatory audits, and site visits from donation-partners.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
+ Demonstrated expertise in leading organizational process improvement initiatives with favorable outcomes to solve complex problems.
+ Familiarity with and ability to interpret statistics as applied to continuous quality improvement tools.
+ Skilled at data collection, analysis, and reporting.
+ Excellent written and verbal skills, including proven experience with technical writing.
+ Must also be comfortable leading trainings, facilitating improvement tools, and speaking in front of a group of people.
+ Ability to learn and implement procedures in compliance with applicable local/state/federal regulations, certifications, accreditations, etc.
+ Multi-tasking, i.e., ability to function and complete work with competing priorities and expectations, and good problem-solving skills.
+ Personal and interpersonal skills, i.e., clear speaking, discreet, considerate, sensitive, and collaborative. Must have the ability to function independently as well as in a team setting.
+ Strong attention to detail and good follow through.
+ Advanced knowledge of personal computers with superior skills in desktop programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Project, Visio, Power Point, and other comparable software programs).

Physical Activities/Requirements
+ Travel out of the general work area may be required.
+ Position functions while sitting and/or standing, use of keyboard, telephone, and office equipment. This position requires the use of phones, computers, and other office equipment.
+ The individual must have the ability to communicate clearly using the English language to accurately convey information and be able to hear at normal speaking levels both in person and over the phone.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
+ Generally, working conditions do not require exposure to hazardous materials nor extremes in health and safety hazards. Work is normally performed in an office or hospital setting, as well as other business environments.
ANTICIPATED WEEKLY TIME COMMITMENT
This position may require work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends, sometimes without advance notice.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & JOB REQUIREMENTS
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college is required.
+ Certification in Quality Management and/or Process Improvement methods is preferred (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, CQIA (ASQ), etc.)
+ A minimum of 3 years of experience that is directly related to Quality in a regulated industry.
+ Regulatory experience, e.g., FDA, CMS, TJC, is preferred.
+ Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, or applicable medical or religious exemption, will be required as a condition of employment upon offer.

The pay range for this role is provided above. Where a candidate’s compensation falls within this range is based on several bona fide factors such as experience, tenure, and other specialized knowledge.
