Position Overview:

Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Operations Team Leader oversees and coordinates employees involved in steel processing activities. Acting as the intermediary between employees and shift supervisors, the Team Leader enforces company policies and procedures while promoting a positive work environment on the shop floor.

Key responsibilities include ensuring safety, providing training, and offering direction and support to employees.

Key Responsibilities and Job Expectations:

Assists in managing the department to meet safety, production, job costing, and quality goals; delegates tasks and ensures materials are ready before shifts.

Ensures order completion and quality inspection per CIS standards; monitors job progress and labor needs, reporting to the shop supervisor.

Acts as a supervisor when needed; inspects work and finished products to meet CIS and industry standards.

Coaches and guides supervisors and managers, overseeing performance management, development, training, and corrective actions.

Suggests improvements in working conditions and equipment use; recommends methods to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.

​Qualifications:

Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.

Proven ability to lead and manage teams with diverse responsibilities, with experience in plant or steel processing environments.

Basic knowledge of job-related computer applications is required, along with experience in Global Shop ERP or a similar ERP system.

Certificates and Licenses: TSSA, CWB, Overhead Crane, Forklift, Safety, WHMIS, Fall Arrest, First Aid
