Process Operator Receiving Department
**Job Description** **12am-8am** **4p-12a** **PAY RATE** **Hire date** **- 22.85 additional .50 for night shift differential** **.50 every 6 months until you reach top rate of 24.85** **Shift 4pm-12am** **Shift 12a-8am** **General Purpose:** Primary duties of this position include but not limited to fluid product receiving, product load out, pasteurization, separation, heat treatment, and reconstitution. Other operational duties include clean-in-place ( CIP), clean–out-of-place (COP) gaskets, master Sanitation, and other tasks in this area as assigned by supervisor. **Job Duties and Responsibilities:** + Perform the duties required to maintain assigned area sanitary and clean + Receive fluid products and check storage vessels + Operate the milk separator in a manner that produces quality product in compliance with USDA regulations + Operate the “Breddo” high shear mixer to produce reconstituted product + Observe product flow into and out of storage vessels and respond to any problems such as leaks or burst lines + Follow steps to ensure proper operation and perform daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance of the equipment in the area + Complete and maintain H.A.C.C.P record keeping, such as filling in charts and sanitation sheets + Take samples of product in a sanitary fashion for lab testing + Set up pipelines, valves, and hoses + Follow all DFA GMP’S and work in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality, and sanitation requirements + Exhibit the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America through honesty, discretion and sound judgment + Ensure safety and GMP policies and procedures are followed + Obtain and maintain all certification and licenses that are required + The requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required. + Complete all classroom training and/or Dairy U Training **_Knowledge, Skills and Abilities_** + Must be able to use and understand calculations used for weights + Must be able to hook up hoses, change jumpers + Must comprehend wash tags, shipping and receiving paperwork, and master sanitation schedule; must be able to communicate with trucks and fellow employees + Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing + Able to identify problems, take appropriate steps to find solutions to problems, and implement recommended solutions + Able to take on additional responsibility when both big and small tasks need to be done + Able to work in collaboration effectively and foster good teamwork and promptly share relevant information with others + Able to adapt and manage to change effectively + Able to perform task and duties without constant supervision + Able to maintain a positive “can do” outlook, rebound quickly from frustrations and unpleasantness, and maintain composure and friendly demeanor while dealing with stressful situations + Able to perform all functions and duties, as outlined, in a timely and efficient manner + Able to contribute to the positive performance behaviors to achieve plant results + Able to set an example for plant personnel with performance behaviors and willingness to learn and share information + Must be able to read, write and speak English **Requirements** + **High school diploma or equivalent preferred** + Production or general work experienced preferred + Able to follow directions and carry out instructions + Able to effectively work in a team environment + Able to legibly write entries for record keeping + Able to work in a fast-paced environment + Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals + Must be able to read, write and speak English An Equal Opportunity Employer **Pay Range** $20.40 / hour
