Position Summary:
The Process Optimization Lead position is part of Global Optimization organization and will be based out of Findlay, OH or San Antonio, TX. This position will play a key role in leading the transformation of MPC’s commercial business process across all commodities, planning cycles, and value optimization, while supporting the Value Chain Optimization (VCO) vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Identifies, develops and leads initiatives to streamline operations and enhance productivity using proven process improvement methodologies.
Assesses current processes, identifies inefficiencies, and uncovers opportunities for improvement to drive operational excellence. Coordinates commercial business processes including demand forecasting, allocation management, pricing, and other critical support processes.
Partners with teams across the organization to implement data driven solutions, track progress, and ensure sustainable improvements.
Leads and supports change management efforts related to process improvements, ensuring smooth transitions and stakeholder engagement.
Identifies and assesses potential risks in process changes and improvement initiatives, develops mitigation strategies, and actively manages risks throughout project lifecycles.
Collaborates with leadership and key stakeholders such as consultants, business subject-matter-experts (SMEs), and IT to develop requirements, functional design documentation, align with the master data management vision, market sensing data, and lead the solutions to ensure initiatives align with organizational priorities and deliver measurable results. Additionally, collaborates with Value Chain Optimization and business SMEs to focus on transforming critical support processes across all commodities, geographic regions, and time series.
Collects and analyzes performance data to track progress, identifies trends, and supports informed decision-making.
Leads project modernization efforts while measuring and monitoring project milestones including business adoption, process changes, and implementation. Tracks key performance indicators (KPIs) for ongoing initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary to optimize outcomes.
Provides guidance, training, and support to teams on continuous improvement methodologies, fostering a culture of excellence.
Develops and presents compelling business cases, including cost-benefit analysis, to secure leadership buy-in.
Continuously monitors market trends, emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation and elevate continuous improvement efforts.
Ensures alignment between business needs and technology solutions, making sure they support MPC’s VCO vision and IT standards.
Fosters a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and adherence to established governance processes
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree Required
Eight (8) years of related experience; including four (4) years of relevant experience in project management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience with Commercial business processes including demand forecasting, allocation management, marketing, and pricing preferred.
