Entergy’s Power Generation group operates a fleet of more than 30 owned, leased, or operated natural gas, coal, hydro and solar plants, with a total engineering capacity exceeding 20,000 megawatts. Entergy continues to build or acquire megawatts from new hydrogen capable natural gas units, solar, wind and other technologies to complement its existing megawatts of nuclear, natural gas, coal, hydroelectric, and solar facilities. Entergy is also on the leading edge of pursuing carbon capture technology on new and existing combined cycle plants to reach carbon neutral goals. **Job Summary** This position is responsible for establishing and maintaining a standard for control system commissioning, monitoring instrumentation, graphics design and alarm management fo r new generation assets. This position will also be responsible for ensuring consistent integration of Power Generation network security infrastructure and NERC CIP standards to facilitate remote operations, remote tuning and cyber security . This position will take the lead on working with the EPC contractors to ensure consistency of control system design for new build power plant facilities. This position will broadly integrate across projects being developed in Power Development and executed by Capital Projects (CP). This position will support all Board approved projects as well as those in development for future consideration **Job Duties** + Partner with Power Generation Engineering and Technical Services to establish and/or maintain an alarm management standard for Power Generation. + Partner with Power Generation Engineering and Technical Services to develop startup sequencing standards, instrumentation requirements and control schemes to successfully implement a “one-click startup”. + Partner with the Capital Projects execution team, plant lead team and EPC control system personnel to ensure consistent alarm management standard is implemented at each new generation site. + Collaborate with the each of the new plant operations teams to establish consistent alarm response strategy for the new build fleet. + Partner with Power Generation Engineering and Technical Services and Remote Operations Control Center to establish and maintain a graphics standard for Power Generation assets. + Partner with the Capital Projects execution team, plant lead team and EPC control system personnel to ensure graphics standards are implemented consistently at each new generation facility to support standardization and remote operability of the facility. + Train the plant staff on fully functional checkout of the plant instrumentation and control systems and ensure consistency from site to site. **Minimum Requirements** Minimum education required of the position Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience in power plant operations, power plant systems, power generation policies and market operations. + **Preferred:** + Advanced technical certification or bachelor’s technical/engineering degree or equivalent work experience. + Technical degree in instrumentation or controls. **Minimum experience required of the position** + Candidate must have a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in utility operations, contro system experience with combined cycle gas turbine power generation or equivalent outside industry experience or at least 5 years power plant experience for candidates with degrees. + A Supt, Process level I position for 15 years experience or equivalent outside industry experience for candidates without degrees. + **Desired:** + Technical degree in instrumentation and controls + Bachelors degree in controls or electrical engineering + **Preferred:** Candidate should have previous experience with commissioning of Mitsubishi NetMation and Emerson Ovation DCS systems. **Knowledge and Skills** + Ability to adapt to a changing and dynamic work environment. + Alarm management experience with Emerson Ovation + Smart graphics design experience with Emerson Ovation + Mitsubishi NetMation control system experience + Industrial facility or power plant commissioning experience + Ability to collaborate with multiple stake holders concurrently + Experience performing full functional check out of control systems and associated instrumentation + Experience with network security architecture + Experience with NERC critical infrastructure protection standards \#LI-AH1 **Primary Location:** Texas-The Woodlands Louisiana : Baton Rouge || Arkansas : El Dorado || Arkansas : Hot Springs || Arkansas : Little Rock || Arkansas : Pine Bluff || Arkansas : Redfield || Louisiana : Lake Charles || Louisiana : Monroe || Louisiana : New Orleans || Mississippi : Jackson || Texas : Beaumont || Texas : Conroe || Texas : The Woodlands **Job Function** :Professional **FLSA Status** :Professional **Relocation Option:** **Union description/code** :NON BARGAINING UNIT **Number of Openings** :1 **Req ID:** 119421 **Travel Percentage** :25% to 50% An Equal Opportunity Employer, Minority/Female/Disability/Vets.
