Focus: The Process Safety Engineer is responsible for leading the execution of the process safety management program at the Oxford, Mississippi facility by facilitating all elements of process hazard analysis for applicable change management, five-year revalidation programs, process safety management systems, and initiatives necessary to achieve Olin Winchester's Environmental, Health, and Safety vision. 

Process Safety Engineer Essential Job Functions:Lead Process Safety Information Projects and incident investigations. Participate in pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR)Monitor, measure, communicate, facilitate effectiveness of Process Safety Management system execution (to include PSSR, MOC, PHA, and PSI)Act as Contract Representative for facility site safety plan updates.Lead process safety incident investigations. Review management of change (MOC) to ensure appropriate technical basis, impact to safety and health, and process safety information created and updated as needed.Maintain process hazard analysis (PHA) calendar and schedule with appropriate participants. Participate in process hazard assessments and failure move and effects analysis; Generate PHA management review report and ensure timely management review occurs; Communicate PHA recommendations to affected personnel; Retain PHA records and provide employee access. Coordinate validation of engineering and administrative controls identified in the FMEA including validation of any applicable mechanical integrity programs for controls.Support site compliance with OSHA standards related to Explosives and blasting agents. Focal point for PSM audits.Assess EHS culture through independent observations, develops and cultural improvement strategy, and executes actions within a developed plan. Process Safety Engineer Minimum Requirements:Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering.Minimum of 5 years of recent related experience.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.Experience with implementing projects and/or programs from initial concept, in a leadership role preferred.Experience Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodology experience preferred. Process Safety Management (PSM) experience. Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume workload, shift demands, work independently, and willingness to be collaborative and support team efforts. Small arms ammunition or similar fast-paced manufacturing environment experience preferred.Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.


Location-Specific Requirements: 

This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
