As a Simulation expert for Process plants,•You will be part of a global product development team for Chemical process in a system integration environment for Marine, Offshore, Onshore, and Process Industry.You will have responsibility inamultidisciplinary (mechanical, electrical power, control system) team working with studies and development of process simulation models.•You will contribute to developing simulation solutions, which are part of our integral Electrification, Automation and Digital solutions, which require know-how and background in the respective domains.You will contribute to the development of both the conventional plants as well as new energy projects as part of the execution of R&D projects with piloting in the first customer projects that include all technical documentation.
You will, daily, interact with international teams and customers with different cultures.• Development of process simulations for different process units and generating simulation models.• Able to handle Material and Energy balance, Process flow diagram, P&ID, Process mapping to simulation model.• Perform process engineering calculations and assigned tasks in compliance with industry standards and practices• Incorporate Complex Loop Control Narratives, Cause and Effect Matrix for Process and F&G System, logic narrativesinto the simulation models.•Able to do process analysis, develop simulation models to estimate potential improvement.You will be involved in Fine tuning of controllers in MPC/Fuzzy/PID and implementing innovative technical ideas with process knowledge to achieve performance guarantee to optimize and increase productivity.•You will be responsible for Designing, developing, testing and deploying simulation Solution as per identified requirement of various project-based process applications.You will be involved in evaluating new developments in advanced process control technology and working with the development team for software improvements.Knowledge of instrumentation Control requirement & Preparation of plant process control scenarios in simulation environment.• Development of customized simulation scenarios based on clientand any project specific requirement.Able to calculate relief load for different over pressurization scenarios in conjunction with international industry codes and standards.• Generate documentation (like SOP) and training material that clearly describes simulation model for various process scenarios.
How You'll Make an Impact• Cross-team engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional local and global teams to achieve a binding of simulation model with control solution and working towards a standardized approach for different architectures or variants.• Compliance with standards: Ensure that designs comply with industrial and international standards with inherent best practicesTeam player: Ability to work in a flexible, multi-functional team-based development environment comprising of Siemens Energy personnel and 3rd party consulting/OEMs.• Documentation: Detailed design specifications, technical drawings, and user documentation.• Strong interest in automation, process control and advanced model- predictive applications.• Experience with DCS and/or PLC configuration, especially in the context of integration with external applications.• Exposure to advanced process control implementation.Experience with process automation and control systems.• Knowledge of process simulation software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.• Working knowledge of any of the Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, EDR, Aspen Flare System Analyzer, PipeFlo (Professional and Compressible), AFT Fathom & Arrow, Intelligent Software, HTRI, FlexSim and Plant design softwares.Have a good understanding of international regulations, international codes, and standards such as API, ASME, and ANSI.Very well understanding of process equipment operational philosophy including Column, Reactor, Vessel, Heat Exchanger, Pump, Compressor, Electrolyzer etc.• A keen learner willing to deepen business understanding and blend it with innovative analytical approaches and share the learnings with the team and the broader organization.Model predictive control and real time optimization experience.
