The role of the Reporting Specialist is to support the technical development of the reporting team’s capabilities by analyzing, classifying, and automating reports. The Reporting Specialist will also be working with non-technical stakeholders such as Account Owner and Process Experts to understand and document the process. The Reporting Specialist will need to make decisions on standardizing reports, compile them into a Report Catalog. Finally, the Reporting Specialist will work on automating these reports

Depending on products or customers that the candidate is assigned to, they may have the following roles or responsibilities: 

Analysis – Why are we generating these reports today? How are the stakeholders using them? Reporting Specialist role is to analyze today’s reporting landscape and find ways to standardize these reports. Data Automation – Writing SQL Queries to generate reports, automating data clean up etc.Data Troubleshooting – Working with Account Team or other stakeholders to identify logic issues in reports. Team Player – Support other team members and back up each other. Clarifies and follows up with concerned parties on root cause of data discrepancies.Must have completed a bachelor's degree; Mathematics or Computer Science major is preferred.Integrity with strong sense of trust and responsibilityAbility to learn new knowledge and skills quicklyGood understanding of data management, data analytics, business intelligence or area related to their assigned product/program. Strong problem solving and communication skillsHighly proficient in SQLKnowledgeable in any modern programming language, PreferredExperienced with Microsoft Office applications, especially ExcelGood in reading, written and spoken EnglishPossess data analytical skills and logical thinkingAttention to details and result-orientedSelf-motivated and willing to work under pressureStrong organization skills and ability to follow documented proceduresStrong problem solving and communication skillsBackground in freight forwarding, consolidation and logistics is preferredSome technical knowledge in SQL, programming languages, BI related software
