Process Supervisor

OVERVIEW

Supervises the refining of raw cane sugar in order to produce high quality granulated, brown and liquid sugar as efficiently and safely as possible.

Supervises a work force of 8-10 hourly associates per shift.  Directly responsible for all refining processes, the receipt of process chemicals, ensuring all safety requirements are met, meeting and exceeding all quality and food safety standards, and efficient use of energy, water, air and electric power.

 

 

 

 

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Supervise eight – ten hourly employees per shift Maintain Standard production rates while meeting safety, regulatory and quality standards Work with Process Engineers and Maintenance to develop projects to improve efficiency of the process Lead assigned teams in the continuous improvement process

 

 

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to troubleshoot refinery issues Strong communication skills Comfortable working on a computer; excel and word Ability to work weekend, rotating shifts, holiday and overtime Physically able to walk, climb and perform physical work including shoveling and lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to work effectively as a team member and a team leader Strong skills in training and developing people Eligible to obtain and hold a TWIC card

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience with and demonstrated success in leading operational/continuous improvement efforts A minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical processing, pharmaceutical or food manufacturing plant as a supervisor Experience working in a semi-automated manufacturing environment with a PLC based control system Experience supervising union personnel preferred Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field OR equivalent military experience

 

 

REWARD PACKAGE

The expected pay range for this position is $67,000.00 - $124,000.00 and will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.
