Job Summary
Provides technical support for manufacturing. Work pertains to production processes in molding and all secondary process operations in molding. Assignments may be varied and not completely standardized or prescribed.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Performs start-up and shut-down of plastic injection molding machines and ensures that all sub systems (i.e., water, materials, heaters, robots, etc.) are operational. Debugs and troubleshoots injection molding process problems for new or existing products to continuously improve part quality and yields. Makes adjustments within process parameters and recommends any changes for improved efficiencies to the Sr. Process Engineer or department managers. This includes but is not limited to tool modifications, robotics, and injection molding machine process changes. Adjusts process parameters when needed and notifies appropriate resources. Properly documents any changes made out of tolerance. Develops and documents standardized processes for various operations. Conducts and plans various tests and experiments which may require minor modifications in equipment setup and/or process parameters. Analyzes data and reports results. RequirementsLevel I
An associate degree in plastics technology is preferred; or a minimum of three years’ experience in processing thermoplastics and a documented commitment to professional self-improvement. A solid understanding of SPC concepts and practice. Excellent interpersonal/team skills with strong written and verbal skills. Previous training experience. Previous experience solving problems and making continuous improvements without direct supervision. Willingness to advance skills through on-the-job training and additional schooling.Level II, (in addition to above)
An AA degree in plastics technology and a minimum of three years’ experience in a closely related field; or a minimum of seven years’ experience in processing thermoplastics and a documented commitment to professional self-improvement. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. as needed. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time. Must maintain proper vision requirements Must be able to maintain alertness to their surroundings. Must have a current and valid Driver’s License.
