PRODUCTION AND MAINTENANCE - PROCESS TECHNICIAN – Application Process
The following information is relative to Production and Maintenance employment at Corning Incorporated in the Corning Valley:
The Employment Process:
For all Production and Maintenance positions at Corning Incorporated in the Corning Valley begins once you attach your resume and submit a completed application. The next step in the process will be an orientation at a local venue to be determined. The orientation will be followed by a series of tests and interviews conducted by Corning Incorporated employees. Upon successful completion of all of the above, the next step will be background checks and a medical exam, to include a physical assessment and a drug test. Qualified candidates are included in a pool for process tech production positions and will be called upon as openings occur in our businesses. Corning Incorporated interviews applicants for self-managed teams and we are looking for individuals that possess a strong work ethic and substantial interpersonal and team participation skills. Our new employees will go through a 90 day probationary period. Production and Maintenance employees are represented by USW Local 1000. No relocation assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up, assembles, maintains, monitors and operates equipment in various operations such as pilot production, research, development labs and department labs and shops. Work with supervisors, scientists, engineers, other technicians and/or self-directed, perform a wide variety of tasks. May require working shifts, holidays and weekend assignments.
Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Work Conditions:
Work hours vary and you may be moved depending on the respective needs of the company. Economic cycles may dictate a need to reduce employees. Reductions occur based on a valley-wide single seniority system.
Education Requirements:
2 year (AAS) technical degree from an accredited institution is required.

The starting pay for this position is $35.35 hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
