Process Technician I - Machining

Work schedule can be either Monday - Friday from 7am - 3:10pm or Tuesday - Friday from 6am - 4:20pm.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Support daily shop floor operations, resolving production issues, quality problems, and implementing process improvements. Activities might include: generate N/C programs, participate in the review of rejected parts to determine disposition and further action.  Estimate and calculate standard times.  Structure and verify bills of materials. Update process documentation. Submit maintenance requisitions. Assist with machinery and equipment installation.  

Perform analysis, data collection and documentation of manufacturing processes. Analyze, recommend and implement layout and workflow improvements consistent with lean manufacturing methodologies. Assist with work station and line layouts, balancing of work content, determination of labor requirements, material handling and storage solutions, process documentation, and operator training as needed. 

Work with Manufacturing and Product Engineering to define work methods and work sequences in the development of new products and processes. Participate in design reviews and engineering changes.

 

Qualifications:

 

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Knowledge and understanding of CNC programming, CAD layout, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), Lean Manufacturing principles, PLC programming, robotics, electrical and electronic troubleshooting, and process capability theory and statistical process control (SPC). 

Must exhibit good communication and interpersonal skills amongst shop floor and support staff.

Execute tasks per direction given.  Team member for projects. 

Must have good hands on expertise in machining processes.
