Procurement Analyst I (Logistics)

The Procurement Analyst I (Logistics) is responsible for providing procurement and logistics support to import raw material (PET resin) logistics category. Primary duties include, but are not limited to tactical and operational activities, following up communication with service providers regarding quotations and daily operations, offering input towards cost reduction and process improvement. The preferred candidate should possess strong analytical abilities and a keen interest in logistics operations and systems.

Essential Functions

Assist in development of Requests for Information (RFI) with potential service providersAssist in development of Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Requests for Quotes (RFQ), assess results, document recommendations and assist in communication of results to service providers and internal stakeholdersManage the regular procurement and daily operations of a logistics categorySupport cost reduction opportunities through negotiations and process improvementDispatch qualified carrier to available freight, provide all pertinent information necessary for a high level of service, respond to questions, investigate and resolve problems as needed, and maintain shipments in the transportation systemFoster and develop relationships with service providers and identify opportunities for additional collaborationSupports the follow through in implementation of various category strategiesTrack performance and communicate service provider performance feedbackCommunicate best practices and competitive offerings to identify opportunities for innovation, competitive advantage and increased profitabilitySeek, support and implement internal and external process improvement opportunitiesWork with Quality and other stakeholders to resolve non-conforming/contamination material issuesPlease note this job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
