Procurement and Strategy Manager III, Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement
Description Amazon Global Supply Chain and Transportation Procurement (GSCTP) is seeking a Procurement and Manager III overseeing Vendor Sourcing and Management responsibilities. This role will focus on vendor negotiations for Amazon's international supply chain and transportation needs, with expectation to develop consistent negotiation methodology and ensure alignment with internal stakeholder teams. A successful candidate will be able to deliver on improved financial results along with vendor performance, capacity, and sustainability efforts. This individual will be expected to manage multiple internal and vendor relationships concurrently, working with a team that contributes significantly to overall transportation and supply chain strategy. Internal and external relationship management is paramount, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A successful candidate will be able to work with senior leadership of external vendors and convey strategic negotiation plans to procurement leaders and business stakeholders that span multiple countries. Key job responsibilities - Negotiation: Deliver improved financial performance through large scale negotiations for supply chain services contracts - Leadership: Lead stakeholder and partner teams indirectly to build a track record of consistently delivering valuable projects - Strategy: Design and implement strategy for individual procurement projects and the overall procurement function to support all goals of the business, not just financial goals. - Bias for Action: Deliver end-to-end contract projects, working through obstacles along the way and planning for unexpected challenges to maintain momentum. - Communication: Set expectations and requirements with external and internal leadership teams, writing well-reasoned and data-driven proposals, performing your own data analysis as necessary. - Technical Problem Solving: Work through difficult challenges, including the full procurement cycle from sourcing, negotiations, legal requirements and internal systems updates. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree - 3+ years of experience working with international transportation and supply chain entities - 5+ years of working cross functionally across several teams experience - 5+ years of using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze large sets of data experience - 3+ years of procurement experience Preferred Qualifications - Master's degree - Experience with SQL - 2+ years experience in global freight forwarding or other international transportation (LCL, FCL, international air freight, warehousing, etc.). Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $109,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
