HOW YOU WILL MAKE THIS A GREAT PLACE TO WORK The Procurement Assistant will assist with key areas in the department such as vendor relations, inventory, and purchase orders. This position will also be responsible for the ordering of all tools for the company. The Assistant will work closely with the Director to help manage the day-to-day functions of the department, keeping company well stocked with quality products and on budget. SOME OF WHAT WE ENTRUST YOU TO DO + Assist the Director with research and identify potential suppliers/vendors. Obtain price quotations and maintain a comprehensive supplier database. + Intake tool order requests, place orders or pull from exiting stock. + Track date of purchase and invoices for tools that are eligible for warranty.  + Assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders. + Review purchase orders for accuracy and completeness and track and monitor order status to ensure timely delivery. + Communicate with suppliers to resolve order discrepancies or issues. + Communicate delivery schedules and expectations to suppliers and maintain positive relationships with vendors. + Communicate with shops to monitor and update inventory levels to avoid stockouts. + Assist in conducting regular stock counts and reconciliation. Coordinate with relevant departments to manage surplus or obsolete inventory. + Maintain accurate procurement records, including purchase orders and contracts. Organize and file procurement documents for easy retrieval. Prepare reports and summaries as needed. + Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures. Assist in the evaluation and qualification of new suppliers. + Assist in cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives. Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality. + Provide administrative support to the procurement team as required. Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and assist with correspondence. WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE + Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record. + Knowledge of underground and overhead electrical tools. + Knowledge of procurement best practices. + Familiarity with procurement software and tools. + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication skills. + Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. + Strong organizational and time-management skills. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). + Willingness to learn and adapt to changing procurement processes. + Integrity and ethical behavior in handling sensitive procurement information. + Ability to work overtime as required . YOUR PRIOR EXPERIENCE + High School Diploma or GED + Minimum 2 years of experience as a Procurement Assistant or in a similar role. COMPETITIVE PACKAGE The pay range for the Procurement Assistant in Paso Robles, CA is $25.00 to $28.00 hourly. This pay range is our competitive compensation at the time of this job posting. Your pay will be determined based on a number of factors, such as experience, education, skills, and applicable knowledge.
