You will join 200 colleagues in Arla Procurement spread across many countries among others, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, UK, Poland, Dubai and Hong Kong. On behalf of our global organization, we manage procurement activities of an annual spend of ~3.5 billion EUR. You will work out of Aarhus and report to Head of Specialized Ingredients, Lasse Nordmark.

You will join our Specialized Ingredients team within our established Ingredients & International department for a 12-14 month term, making significant contributions to Arla Foods on a global scale,” says Lasse Nordmark.

 

How you will make an impact

We are looking for a category manager maternity cover for the Specialized Ingredients team, where you will be a part of the global procurement team, and have dedicated category management of direct materials into Arla production sites.

In the Specialized Ingredients team, you will join a team with 5 colleagues but you also work close together with the rest of the Ingredients team, which consists of +13 colleagues where 7 of them are located in Aarhus.

 

We expect you to successfully navigate the complexity of the category as you: 

Define, develop and drive sourcing practices as well tools and processes to facilitate sourcing decisions within your categories Manage negotiations and projects, involving and efficiently coordinating between stakeholders and suppliers Build strong relationships with innovation colleagues, ensuring efficiency, resilience and contingency plans for continuous business operations are in place Negotiate contracts and lead contract ratification activities, in collaboration with legal stakeholders, to ensure our supplier partners meet agreed standards, time frames and prices

 

What will make you successful

You preferably holds a degree at master’s level, within e.g. Business administration, International business or similar, supplemented with experience from a position within procurement. Experience within purchasing of ingredients and/or FMCG´s will be considered an advantage, but is not a requirement. Whether you have worked at an international company or perhaps a consultancy, it will also be beneficial to have strong project management skills driving processes, including negotiating and landing contract agreements.  

 

You are experienced in business partnering, building positive relationships and managing stakeholders at all levels. You know how to keep processes going through thoughtful communication and flexible project management. Your analytical skills allows you to be comfortable changing from a high level and strategic view to doing operational tasks to deep dive for insights.

It is likewise important that you have a good understanding of complex negotiations, contracts and the commercial aspects behind them.

 

Furthermore, you: 

Preferably have several years of experience with procurement Have previous experience with Ingredients, FMCG´s or raw materials will be a considerable advantage Are fluent in written and spoken English
 

On the personal level you bring strong team player qualities, and the combination of your business knowledge and communication skills enables you to influence others to move towards a common goal. You are skilled at developing relationships with the empathy to understand the human elements in a change journey, whilst retaining focus. You are resilient and determined to achieve your objectives but possess the flexibility to listen to push back and work collaboratively to achieve our agreed goals.
