About the role

We’re looking for a Procurement Contract Administrator to join our growing team!

As a Procurement Contract Administrator, you are at the heart of the Procurement team supporting third party contract administration, drafting, compliance and protecting the company against risk exposure.

You will review and update existing contracts and explain terms and conditions to interested parties. You stay up-to date with legislative changes and coordinate with the legal department as needed. You will ensure all contracts conform to our internal legal requirements, process integrity, and meet our policy objectives.

Our ideal candidate has previous experience in managing contracts and has in-depth understanding of Canadian contracts and ability to interpret legal terms effectively. The role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate should be well-versed with electronic procurement platforms being the core of our Procurement function.

Here are a few ways you'll make a difference:

Monitor the contract lifecycle according to corporate governance rules, with support from cross-functional experts, business partners, and procurement.

Draft renewals, extensions, amendments and terminations as per pre-approved templates and internal guidelines. Identify and propose clauses to mitigate potential contractual risks as per internal policies.

Use a risk-based approach to determine applicable security and legal requirements for each supplier relationship, following corporate governance procedures.

Periodically organize and maintain contract files by reviewing contractual hierarchy and related documentation on an electronic database as per established procedures.

Manage cross-functional relationships across various functions, divisions, and locations for contract requests, signing, and clarifications.

Offer creative inputs on procurement projects to improve efficiency and actively participate in their implementation. Suggest improvements to existing processes based on industry standards.

Identify and address contract-related disputes, escalating them to legal or senior management as needed.

Serve as an ambassador of the procurement process, explaining it to internal stakeholders. Oversee the implementation of contract policies and procedures with the legal department to ensure compliance.

Your Skills 

Paralegal Diploma in contract administration, bachelor’s degree in business administration or law, professional designation or other relevant certification is considered an asset.

1+ years’ experience in contract drafting and reviewing in a corporate environment.

In-depth understanding of contract law and ability to interpret legal terms effectively.

Excellent inter-personal and cross-functional communication skills with experience in effectively supporting requests from various stakeholders and business teams.

Strong analytical skills and critical thinking, decision making, problem solving, and attention to detail. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
